BS Nursing
Bachelor of Science in Nursing — 4 years
The BS Nursing programme is the full professional route into nursing. It covers the biological sciences, nursing theory and practice, community and public health, and a substantial amount of supervised clinical work in real health facilities.
What you study
- Anatomy, physiology and biochemistry
- Fundamentals of nursing and patient assessment
- Medical, surgical, paediatric and obstetric nursing
- Community health nursing and health education
- Pharmacology, microbiology and nutrition
- Nursing ethics, communication and professional conduct

Staff nurse positions in public and private hospitals, specialised units, community health programmes, and further study or supervisory roles in the profession.
LHV — Lady Health Visitor
Lady Health Visitor — 2 years
The LHV programme prepares women to serve as the first line of maternal and child health care in their own communities. LHVs are among the most needed health workers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the qualification is recognised across the public health system.
What you study
- Maternal health: antenatal, delivery and postnatal care
- Newborn and child health, growth monitoring and immunisation
- Family planning counselling and reproductive health
- Community health, sanitation and health education
- First aid, basic clinical procedures and record keeping
- Supervised field and clinical practice
Where it leads
Basic health units, rural health centres, maternal and child health centres, vaccination and community health programmes, and private clinics.
CNA — Certified Nursing Assistant
Certified Nursing Assistant — 1 year
A practical, one-year certificate for students who want to begin working in health care quickly. CNAs work alongside qualified nurses, taking responsibility for direct patient care under supervision.
What you study
- Basic patient care, hygiene and comfort
- Vital signs: temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure
- Infection prevention and control
- Safe patient handling, mobility and positioning
- Ward routine, documentation and reporting
- First aid and emergency assistance
Where it leads
Nursing assistant posts in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and home-care settings — and a solid foundation if you later apply for a longer nursing programme.
CNW — Certified Nursing Worker
Certified Nursing Worker — 1 year
The CNW course trains dependable support staff for wards, operation theatres and outpatient departments — the people who keep a clinical area running safely and who assist the nursing team through the day.
What you study
- Fundamentals of patient care and personal hygiene
- Cleanliness, sterilisation and infection control in clinical areas
- Handling, lifting and shifting patients safely
- Assisting nurses during procedures and ward rounds
- Care and handling of equipment and supplies
- Communication with patients and attendants
Where it leads
Ward and theatre support roles in hospitals and clinics, outpatient departments, and private health facilities across the district.
Allied health technology courses
These technologies are recorded against our institute in the FPMA register. Availability in a given session depends on the Faculty’s admission notification — please confirm with the admission office.
Medical Laboratory Technology
Pathology laboratory work: sample collection and handling, haematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology and laboratory safety.
Pharmacy Technology
Dispensing, drug storage and handling, pharmaceutical calculations, prescription reading and pharmacy record keeping.
Radiology Technology
Radiographic positioning and technique, imaging equipment, radiation protection and darkroom or digital processing.
Surgical Technology
Operation theatre practice: sterilisation, instruments, theatre routine and assisting the surgical team safely.
Health Technology
General health technology and dispensing duties for basic health units, clinics and community health facilities.
