About the Institute
Who we are, what we stand for, and how we prepare students for a working life in health care.
A health sciences institute for Bannu and the surrounding districts
Bannu Institute of Health Sciences is a private institute of nursing and allied health sciences located on Kohat Road, Bannu. It was set up to answer a simple, practical need: the region trains far fewer nurses and health technicians than its hospitals, basic health units and clinics require, and many capable students could not afford to move to Peshawar or Islamabad to study.
The institute is affiliated with the Faculty of Paramedical & Allied Health Sciences (FPMA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and appears in the Faculty’s register of affiliated institutes for Bannu district with an active status. Our courses, examinations and record-keeping follow the Faculty’s rules.
Everything we do is built around one measure of success — whether our graduates are competent, employable and trusted by the patients they look after.
Vision, mission and values
Our vision
To be the most trusted institute of nursing and allied health sciences in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa — known for the competence and conduct of the people it produces.
Our mission
To deliver honest, disciplined, practice-based health education that is within reach of ordinary families in Bannu, and to place our graduates in useful service.
Our values
Care before convenience. Discipline in the ward and the classroom. Respect for patients, for families and for each other. Honesty in assessment and in our dealings.
From the Principal
“Nursing is not a job you can learn from a book alone. It is learned at the bedside — in how you speak to a frightened patient, how carefully you record a reading, and how honestly you report a mistake.
At Bannu Institute of Health Sciences we hold our students to that standard from the first day. We teach the syllabus properly, we make them practise until the procedure is second nature, and we expect the discipline that this profession demands.
To the families of Bannu: your sons and daughters are safe with us, and they will leave here with a skill that will always be needed.”
